Decidedly Academic. Distinctively Christian.

Pledge Allegiance to the Christian Flag

This morning, a Facebook cartoon post portrayed a young girl, curled up in a chair looking very exasperated:  The caption read: “I desperately need a ‘hide political posts’ button on Facebook so that I can still like my friends after the election year is over.”  These are certainly intense days of heated rhetoric, red-lining emotions, and lots of finger-pointing.  That’s why it was so refreshing to walk through the hallway later in the morning and hear young voices reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Christian flag. Proudly they proclaimed, “I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag, and to the Savior, for whose kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe.”  What a beautiful reminder–from “out of the mouths of babes”—that our real hope lies in the fact that we are citizens of a higher Kingdom!

Timely post that reminds us our ultimate allegiance is to God first!
