BrainPOP Has Arrived!

What is BrainPOP you may ask? Well, according to our Curriculum Director, Linda Thompson, BrainPOP is a resource accessible to both teachers and students that provides visually interactive opportunities that engages students, supports classroom lessons, and boosts student achievement. BrainPOP’s resources span the curriculum and include social studies, English, health, art and music. It also supports our efforts to improve our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) curriculum. In essence, it puts more tools at the teachers’ fingertips.

Foothill Christian has added BrainPOP to the list of online resources it provides our teachers and students. It can be used to enhance a classroom lesson, provide foundational information for a “flipped” learning experience, provide hands-on learning with iPad technology, and much, much more. It will enhance both formal and informal learning experiences for an entire class, small groups, or individuals.

Our teachers are excited! Third grade teacher, Mrs. Lucas says, “I love it because it provides short videos that explain difficult concepts in a way that kids can understand.” Miss Burris, our Junior High Science teacher’s response was, “Yes!!! Thank you! Thank you! BrainPOP will provide virtual labs that bring science to life.”

We are all grateful to Foothill Christian School’s Foundation for providing this valuable resource. It will go a long way in enhancing the learning experience of our students.
