Hello, this is Zachary Reid, Riley, and Dayton. Today was our first day at the foundation and we were greeted with quite the welcoming. Today we saw a home run derby and handed out awards to the winners. There were about 200 Dominican teens who were there to watch the derby and cheer on the players. But the really big show came before the events started with a huge helicopter on the baseball field at the foundation. Manny called his friends from the Dominican Air Force to show up and they flew up in the sky and had 6 people sky dive down into the stadium. The last person to land had a parachute that was the Dominican flag. Everyone was cheering. It was so cool!
Next we sorted donations for our trip to Azua tomorrow. We made about 300 bags full of shirts, pants, toys, candy, and hygiene products for each person we meet tomorrow. It took a while to sort everything, but we had a really good system down between parents and students.
We had a delicious lunch and Ms. Rychen, Ms. Dow, and Izzy’s grandpa went to the supermarket and bought a ton of food for 15 families in the community. They bought rice, chicken, vinegar, oil, pasta, salt, beans, bread, and so much more! We walked around El Tamarindo where we passed out bags of groceries. During the walk a student, Cassie Martinez, performed a moving prayer in Spanish. The people truly appreciated the groceries and the prayers. More people asked for items, so we told them that we will pass out donations on Monday.
Loved this pictures — really touched my heart! We are so proud of all you guys are doing in showing God’s love to others! We’re praying for you! Lots of Love!
