Day 4 was quite a busy day for the team. The team split into their respective groups for their morning programs at the two local schools. At Charro’s school, parent Milly Gaydos blessed 30 little girls with adorably sewn dresses from her church’s Bible study. The girls loved the dresses and looked very cute!
In the afternoon the students were able to play with the Dominican children and prepare for the baby clothes drive. Women started lining up to receiver diapers and outfits hours before we were ready to begin. Once the “shop” was open, each of our students got to take a mother and her child to find some items to bless them with. The beautiful thing was that there were plenty of baby clothes for all of the mothers.
While the students were preparing for the baby drive, parents Milly Gaydos and Suzy Esquivel, along with teacher Ms. Rychen, went to Olé (a local supermarket) to buy food for 45 families. The money they used was from past families who sponsored a family for $25 dollars. We were able to purchase chicken, rice, sugar, salt, oil, salami, chicken broth, and various other foods. Each family was overjoyed with the amount of food they received. It was absolutely amazing to see the students deliver the groceries and get to pray over the family.
It was so amazing to see how many families we could bless with the help of former families. Thank you to all who gave, and gave generously!
Another highlight of the trip was the team hosting our three amazing bus drivers and our guide for the week at our hotel. We had a nice pasta dinner and thanked them for all they have done for us and past teams. They have never stayed at the hotel with us and absolutely loved it!
