Decidedly Academic. Distinctively Christian.

Curtain Call in the State Capitol

Foothill’s Thespian Troop, led by FCS Theater Arts Director, Jen Robinson, joined over three hundred other theatre students, educators, friends and administrators for a gathering in Sacramento at the state capitol on March 14.

During the past twelve years, over two thousand students and teachers have participated in this event, which has been declared California Youth in Theatre Day by the Governor’s Office and the California Legislature.

Students began the day over breakfast with legislators and government aides, followed by visits to various legislative offices where speakers shared about the importance of the Arts in the lives of young people today. Afterward, it was time for students to perform songs, dances, monologues, duets, and scenes from selected plays.

At the end of the day, everyone takes a bow! The talent of youth is celebrated and the value of the Arts again affirmed in the lives of our students.
