At Foothill we are always looking for ways to advance our programs and improve our facilities. Everywhere you look on campus there is evidence of our commitment to God-honoring excellence! The beautiful and spacious library, our stunning computer lab and attractive lunch patio all signal…quality. But our gym floor lacked luster!
The existing floor was installed over 15 years ago and was showing signs of the use (and abuse) it received daily from athletics and school child care programs. The blue and burgundy colors did not match our athletic brand and the epoxy style paint was sub-standard as it related to injury prevention.
Prior to installing the Eagle mascot logo
in center court, students and faculty—including
Coach Laurie Harrington and Superintendent Bo
Gutzwiller—memorialized the site with personal
signatures and scriptures.
Thanks to your 2016-17 fundraising support, we were able to install a new wood-grain floor with several layers of shock-absorption rubber that provides immediate protection when athletes fall, slide, or dive on the floor. This flooring has been installed in over 70,000 gymnasiums, including top-ranked universities and the Olympic volleyball venues since 1976! The new look also features the school colors in vibrant design. The especially attractive mid-court Eagle mascot logo is a two-toned, wood inlay that rivals the most innovative sports courts in America!

Our gymnasium is a prominent aspect of student life and school spirit here at FCS. Having a multi-purpose facility that accommodates sporting events, showcases our fine arts productions and supports our chapel programs is a huge blessing! Having a state-of-the-art floor brings it in line with the high standards for which Foothill is known.
