Decidedly Academic. Distinctively Christian.

Mexico Immersion Trip 2024

Last week a group of 26 eighth grade students along with 14 parents traveled to Maneadero, Mexico to partner with Baja Bound and Baja Educational Initiative.  These ministries are working to help break cycles of poverty by providing homes and educational resources to the working poor in this region of Baja.

In just 3 days, our FCS team built a home for a beautiful family of 8 that was living under tarps and sleeping on wet mattresses covered with flies.  Using over $650 donated through our elementary chapel offerings we purchased new beds, pillows and blankets for the family as well. After praying over and dedicating the home with the family, we presented the keys amidst lots and lots of tears.  A moment we will forever cherish!

In addition, we visited 4 local schools where we painted, sang songs, did crafts, played games and just had fun.  A few of our students used their artistic abilities to paint murals on the sides of two of the schools.  We heard testimonies from students who are being supported through BEI and are able to stay in school and plan for a future they never thought possible.

Thank you to all who gave and supported this endeavor.  We look forward to more life-changing opportunities on both sides of the border in the future!
