Summer Recap

Someone asked me today to give a few highlights of the summer program and I found myself speechless. Try to put into words the looks in the kid’s eyes as they stare at the robot Dinosaur at the Natural History Museum, or the excitement on their faces as they experience the rides at Adventure City or Knott’s Berry Farm. Listen to the students as they share in the excitement of what they learned in Computer Class today or the latest math problem they solved. How can I describe watching the students making a craft with one of the child care staff as they talk about their favorite summer memories?  We watched sportsmanship develop as the most competitive students’ help the younger students learn how to play games in the coolness of the Gym on a hot summer’s day. To lay on the sand at the beach and watch the waves coming in and wonder where in the world they have traveled from…or where are they going to from here.
 

The friendships we have made throughout these weeks will continue into next year and next summer.  The smiles, laughter and squeals are the meter we base our success on. That would reflect a very successful time spent here at FCS this summer.  In a few words…We Had A Blast!
