Happy Thanksgiving!
We never would have thought this would be how we would spend our Thanksgiving, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. This was a Thanksgiving to remember!
We fed over 300 kids lunch today- some of them ate the turkeys we brought in our carry ons. We were so glad everyone was able to eat! It was hard to eat our Thanksgiving meal after and even get seconds-Christian Moussa explained.
We were also able to deliver 15 more bags of groceries to families in the village. Our village walk was really hard because people kept coming up to us asking if we could give them food or help with a sickness. We saw a lot of infections, cuts, and scrapes. It was hard to look at.
One little girl, Emily, needed help because she had fallen and her knee was extremely swollen with a huge bump on it so she was walking bo-legged and limping. Mr. Carter and Mr. Gindi tried to help her and Maya Arnouk gave her her shoes so she was safer to walk.
It was a great day that ended with a debrief about what we appreciated in one another and how God really picked this team for a reason. We are so blessed to be here and are thankful for many things!
