Decidedly Academic. Distinctively Christian.

D.R. Trip – Day 4

Today we went to the schools in the morning and enjoyed playing with all of the kids. The dads are coming a long way with the new walls they are putting up at Charro’s school.

We also gave away more clothes and food bags. Dr. Khedia and the medical team were very busy seeing many patients today. He saw a couple of kids with severe hernias. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the medicine from the airport from Mr. Gindi.

Autumn Bartee says that the children have touched her heart.

Alexis was really touched by a little boy that offered her his food when they were sitting by the stadium. She couldn’t believe that he would give her his even though he was hungry.

Sofia observed that the schools were really stuffy and had a lot of kids in them. She was amazed that even though they had very little, they were still happy and were learning.

All in all, it was a long and full day. We can’t believe that tomorrow is the last day. It’ll be hard to say goodbye.
